Playing the finest glam rock, hair rock, hard rock, cheesy rock and poodle rock ever strewn forth from amplifiers. Bringing with them the majestical works of the oft overlooked masters of music, the legends of lyric, the pioneers of power and the alchemists of anthems…

The music of…

THE ROCK GODS Metallica, AC/DC, Journey, Foreigner, Skid Row, Queen, Europe, Scorpions, Boston, Kiss, The Who, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Free, Steppenwolf, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Van Halen, Mötley Crüe, Jefferson Airplane and… yes… The Darkness.

Or on Saturday 30th October why not come dressed as a dead Movie Star (we’ll be playing music from movies with deceased actors ie Dennis Hopper, Patrick Swayze) for SOUNDTRACKS. Again it’s Free before 9pm, 3pm after.

£2 for both nights.

We have stolen our fathers car, rounded up the brat pack and are heading towards Beaumont at a steady speed of 88mph to reap some dancing havock upon the home of John Lithgow. And we are making sure that NOBODY is in left in the corner!

Buffalo Trace presents Buffalo Rocks

James-Walsh-300x260

Makers of tasty bourbon Buffalo Trace are putting on a new night of music at The Monarch. On Thursday 23rd September there is a very special launch party

James Walsh headlines the show with a special stripped down acoustic set and a different vibe from his usual full band set up with Starsailor.

Support acts come in the form of the amazing Jim Stapley and Lee MacDougall.

For a band often lambasted as shrinking violets, Starsailor have kept some pretty loose and unexpected company since they announced their arrival in 2001 with the majestic ‘Love Is Here.’ Then, as 19 year olds straight out of music college in Wigan, they found themselves hurled into the world of Heavenly Recordings – a label notorious for The Social, the good times and being friends with Primal Scream, Happy Mondays and The Charlatans. It was the legendary DJ Andrew Weatherall that provided their first remix. The band might have been signed by EMI, but it was Heavenly’s founder, the mercurial Jeff Barrett, that A+R’ed them through their first two wildly successful albums. Indeed, the second of those – 2004’s ‘Silence Is Easy’ – saw them become the last band to record with production genius and careless gun user Phil Spector. Not the kind of company you suspect that their supposed peers – Snow Patrol, Keane et al – would ever keep.
